Swindon CCC have recently cancelled their rally scheduled for 5th - 7th October at Hardwick Park, Standlake, Oxfordshire. An alternative venue will hopefully be arranged, soon.

The C.M.E. App Page for the website has been re-designed. to find it, simply use your smart phone to search for the website, www.cmeccc.com, and it will automatically take you to it, there is also an option to revert to normal web view for the site. unfortunaty due to limitations from apple (iphones) you can not use the online booking form, but all other android devices are supported... heres the new look.

COMMITTEE MEETING SUMMARY

The following is a summary of discussions and decisions taken at the Committee meeting on 17 January 2012:

BL ASSN

The next Association meeting will be on 18 March 2012. Mrs. Devine and Mr. Amos will attend on behalf of the Club.

FINANCES

The Club is in a healthy position financially. However substantial sums have been committed for future expenditure for the 40^th birthday celebrations at the dinner dance in November 2012 and rally in 2013.

FORTHCOMING RALLIES

Bookings onto Club rallies have been higher than expected for the time of year, which is promising. Marshals are still needed for the following rallies:

23-25 March Husbands Bosworth Gliding Club

04-07 May Hopleys, Bewdley

01-05 June Bank Farm, Welshpool

30 Dec-02 Jan Inkberrow Village Hall

EQUIPMENT

The large generator is to be sold for spares or repair.

Two halogen heaters are to be purchased for use in the party tents.

ENTERTAINMENT

A coach trip to North Petherton carnival is being planned for 10^th November. Initial quotes for a coach appear expensive so more quotes will be sought.

A date for a 10-pin bowling night is to be arranged.

There will be a Comedians Night at Ansty Club on the Friday of the AGM rally. Last years was excellent so it will be well worth supporting.

Entertainment for the November Dinner Dance has been booked. A suitable menu will be discussed with the Club caterers at the next meeting.

PUBLICITY

The website was back online and the online rally booking system was operational.

The 40^th birthday celebrations need to be advertised to give the Club some local profile. Mr. Lloyd was to make initial approaches to local press and radio stations.

Mr. Lloyd was to organise a photographic competition. Watch the website for details.

2013 RALLY PROGRAMME

The only rallies left to book were the main holiday rallies. The Lake District and Yorkshire were being looked at for the main summer holiday rally but sites were proving increasingly reluctant to accept rallies during peak periods.

2013 BIRTHDAY RALLY

A suitable site had been booked. Entertainment for the evening had been booked and a falconry display for the afternoon had also been booked. There were discussions about catering and all options would be investigated.

PRE-XMAS RALLY

There were discussions about possibly changing the format of the children’s Christmas party to take account of the widening age groups we now have in the Club.

ENROLMENT NIGHT

The Committee were pleasantly surprised at the high number of members that supported the night. More seating will be organised for next year.

Self Change Gears CCC - Change of rally venue

I've received a letter today from the Self Change Gears CCC Secretary, informing of a rally cancellation.

March 9th to 11th - Horse and Jockey, Bentley - this has been cancelled due to increased costs being requested by the site owners. SCG are not prepared to pay the increase.

An alternative venue has been organised for the same weekend - Fir Tree Farm, Warmington, Banbury, OX17 1BU

Wolseley CCC - Rally Cancellation and change of dates

Unfortunately we are writing to inform you of changes to the Wolseley C.C.C. 2012 Rally programme.

Details as follows:-

Page 139

June 1st – 5th Spring Bank Holiday at Chester Racecourse is cancelled. This is due to the Racecourse making a double booking. We will inform you of an alternative Venue in due course.

Page 146

October 13th – 20th Half Term Break at Willow Tree Farm, Sutton on Sea,

October 13th – 20th Half Term Break at Hawkchurch Country Park, Axminster.

The rally Dates for both of these Venues have been changed to October 27th- November 3rd.

Landrover CCC - Change of rally venue. 23rd - 25th March 2012

Shuttington on 23rd-25th March 2012 will now be The Gate Inn at Nether Whitacre B46 2DS.

ONLINE BOOKING SERVICE

The online booking service has now been re-installed onto the website, and is in full working order.

As stated in the rally book, rally bookings cannot be accepted until 15th January. Please continue to use the service, and any bookings will be collated on the 15th, along with the paper slips that have already been received in the post. You will receive an email confirming your online booking has been accepted on or after 15th January.

ADDITIONAL MARSHALS

I would like to thank the following for volunteering to run rallies that previously had no marshals allocated: Cassie, Kevin, Cara & William Dillon for taking on Elmdale House rally in July. Joyce & Iain Rankin for taking on Marston Edge, Stratford, rally in March. Please give these good people your support. There are a couple of rallies still in danger of being cancelled due to not having marshals. Look at the list under 2012 Rallies and if you are interested in taking one of them on, please contact Geoff Kimberlin or myself. Thanks once again.

NEXT RALLY - HOLLYFAST CARAVAN PARK

Our first rally of the year is at Hollyfast Caravan Park in Allesley, Coventry from 10 to 12 February. This is a popular full facility site with excellent social rooms for our use. The rally is being run by a popular team so this strictly limited rally will fill up fast.

Come along and help Simon celebrate his birthday - there's sure to be fun and games.

Get your slips in quickly or prepare to be disappointed!

Reunion Anyone ???

Calling all former members... the original 80s Youth Section members are planning a reunion! Leave Feb/Mar 2012 as free as possible so that you can join in this unique opportunity to renew those amazing friendships and to exchange memories of 1980s rallies. Got an idea? Let us know! We aim to make this event as big and successful as possible and anyone willing to lend a hand or offer ideas and suggestions are more than welcome.

We need to get as many names on the confirmed list as soon as possible so that we can plan a date, venue, entertainment etc. Please contact either Duncan Olner at duncan.olner@tiscali.co.uk or Sarah Fox (Hadland) at foxmyinbox@googlemail.com to log your interest, or visit the CMECCC Facebook group where you'll find an event which you can join. More details will then be distributed in due course.

And no need to necessarily have been a member in the 80s; any member current or past is welcome. So come on Dave Savage, where are you? And Dave and Irene Shaw and Rich and Paul... we can't do this without people like you! Steve Orr? The Humphries clan... and anybody else who made the CMECCC the club it continues to be... let's make this a party to remember!
